I'm actually starting to run short on fabric here at home. I'm glad to use up some things that I've had sitting around for a long time. The yellow fabric is so thin and airy. The mermaid square in the center is flannel. I was going to give this one as a gift until I realized I cut it out with the selvage showing and then sewed one of the sides crooked. I was eager to finish and didn't iron like I should have. Tip: If I had actually used the iron on this one, I would not have messed up. Tip 2: Sometimes using the iron around a bunch of kids can be dangerous. It is worth waiting until a calm moment, mid-afternoon, when no one is hungry.
