4 VeryBaby Larges. The peach one, I stenciled the stars on front, and a butterfly on the back. I also tried a different pocket opening in the back. Not a very pretty diaper.

May just seem like an ordinary cake, but it is actually a sweet potato cake. The first time I've used this recipe. If I were a better photographer, I would have taken a picture of the beautiful inside color. It was very yummy!

An 18" doll outfit. The shirt is awful, but the pants turned out really great! I am still interested in trading someone- my doll pants for your doll shirts. Anyone willing to do an in-person instruction lesson on making these little shirts?

5 Newborn diapers in one day! Start to finish! These are not bound in elastic, so they take an extra few steps, and the velcro/aplix is sewn on, another step. I thought I would add a few of these, since velcro/aplix is faster for wiggly newborn diaper changes. I may make just one or 2 more things for the newborn diaper stash. Check out those fun, easy laundry tabs!

Gift: Beautiful hand dyed sock yarn and a mini skein of purple malabrigo. Oh-so-soft!
Thank you!

Not made by me: I received some wonderful handmade and thoughtful gifts, I am going to post them here too.

A knitted bell that rings. A lovely tree ornament in sparkly red yarn. Thank you Vanessa!

Hard to tell here, but this was a heaping platter full of 'Monkey Bread'. It went so fast that this is what was left by the time I grabbed the camera. Yummy holiday treats!

Something totally new for me. A guitar strap. I tried to get the photo of the print; it is subtle music notes on black. Also, a picture of it in use. I was really pleased with how this turned out, and even more pleased that the guitar that came over for Christmas did not already have one.

Here is the link to my little brother's latest guitar adventures: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=435239744

Although blurry, this is a better look at the "poopy pouch".

Saturday, December 27, 2008

Hard to tell, but this is a 'poopy pouch'. It clips to your dog leash and holds regular grocery bags. A gift for a dog owner.

Here is a little pantsuit for a Cabbage Patch Doll. I'll have to wait to see how it fits him. I was told that the boy doll did not have enough clothes.

Fun purple corduroy. They are wrinkly because they are from the 'unfinished bin'. But now, they are finished! Of course, the child they were intended for does not want to wear them.

Another quick flannel blanket.

This may not look like much; because it isn't. I tried "glue resist". I think I've figured out what to try differently next time. This didn't turn out bad, just not as bold as I had hoped for.

Dolly Sarah wanted some panties. I tried a different kind of pattern. I've made her lots of diapers, but teeny tiny panties are different. I can see where to improve next time; more elastic wherever it will fit.

This tiny fitted diaper is from a free pattern, called "Darling Diapers Newborn". Blurry, but you can see the snap in the front that makes room for the belly button on a new baby. I will cut out and sew the inserts in after I finish all 9 of these diapers. Getting closer to my goal...

These are the few that are left. Brownies made in muffin cups with a surprise. Some with mini Peppermint Patties and some mini Resee's Cups. The kids did most of the work. Here's my first attempt at sharing a recipe:

Make brownie mix according to directions. Spray muffin cups with non-stick spray. Pour batter into cups about halfway or a little more. Push a small chocolatey candy into the batter so it is not hidden. Bake 20 minutes at 350. They come out of the pan better if you let them cool completely, or put them in the fridge to cool. (I was in a hurry)

No throw-away gift tags for us this year! These are luggage tags! A fun reusable way to tag your gifts and you will know which bag is yours at the airport!

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

Yahoo! Finished just in time! Tonight is the holiday knitting party. There are almost 50 sachets here. Tied with green sparklie yarn, in bundles of 2. One with lavendar, one with mint. The lavendar will keep the moths out of your wool- for my knitting friends. The tags were also made by me. Fun paper, printed names, laminated onto luggage tags. I am very pleased with how they turned out, I just didn't realize how time consuming the whole process would be.

No post yesterday, I was working on these.

9 more diapers. 3 larges, 6 mediums. Hubby wanted to make sure I was including some girly diapers, so here they are. I really like the army green ones with the pink snaps and binding. I am getting closer to my goal!

I think a couple of these are great, and a couple look like terrible laundry accidents. Those can be fixed. We are planning another 'dye day' in January. I still have a lot of prefolds and a few onsies that are sadly blank.

I had forgotten how easy and fun this is! The kids had a super great time too!

I've been picking up some plain onsies from clearance racks, thrift stores and a friend had some that her son grew out of. Some of these turned out really great!

If you've been following my daily posts, today is just a teaser for tomorrow! I'm excited to open these up tomorrow. A bit of tie-dying. We all had a great time!

This doll dress is for a Cabbage Patch. I may have sewn it backwards, the pleats are all in the back. I don't think the doll will mind, though.

A doll diaper, and doll skirt. The diaper was in the 'unfinished' bin.

Monday, December 8, 2008

I wanted to make a sewing machine cover, I thought it would clean up my sewing table which sits in the middle of the living/dining room. Turns out, this pattern sewed up easily, but only fits over my Pfaff, over the hard case. It is way too huge for the old Kenmore I've been using. The sewing area will forever look messy. It was nice to sew with pretty fabric. This is a reversible quilted cotton.

Another apron finished, I think there are still six left. I may have to learn how to make the binding myself.

Saturday, December 6, 2008

Although I am trying to 'finish up' everything without buying anything more, I did not have the right color bias binding for this apron. Luckily, I found some perfect pink at a thrift shop this week. Child-sized apron, fun brown and pink.

Remember that yarn I dyed from leftover Easter egg coloring? Here it is knitted. Very tiny.

Thursday, December 4, 2008

A short doll montage. The 2 skirts are new projects, but the rest were stuffed in that unfinished bin. There are still several pairs of pants left to finish. I made the blue shirt also, but it is really awful. The pictures actually make it look better than it really is. Anyone want to trade skirts and pants for shirts?

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Scissors are added for size comparison. These are made from leftover waterproof fabric. I may use these little pouches for wipes. Any other ideas?

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

A couple of diapers, look at those cute tags!

Monday, December 1, 2008

I was surprised to find that these pillows are so expensive to buy in a chain store. I was able to make this one with little effort and under $9. It has a big yucky wrinkle you can see, but I think I know why. I'll make another cover and hopefully fix that on the next one.

Sunday, November 30, 2008

Still in the spirit of finishing up, these jammies were intended for Christmas last year. I've finally finished them. I actually made them each a pair- "matchies". Now both officially finished in time to cut out some for this year.

Saturday, November 29, 2008

A couple of diapers for us. These are larges. Lemon colored outside with light blue snaps and light blue elastic binding. Even in poor lighting, you can see the great size tags! I am very happy with how they turned out!

Friday, November 28, 2008

Here is a patriotic zippy diaper bag. This one is a keeper! It should hold at least 3 diapers at once.

Thursday, November 27, 2008

The very last bit of scrap from some of my favorite fabric. This little guy is big enough for a gift card.
