I really enjoyed working with the pink version of this super soft and fluffy yarn. The blue colors do not impress me. This hat is a bit bigger and for a friend's baby boy.

The colors of this hat don't show up very well. The blue is dark, but not that dark. More of a denim blue. This is a hat for a dear friend expecting a baby boy. Newborn sized.

Making a shawl with worsted weight yarn was a first for me, but I actually enjoyed it. This was a quick knit. The yarn is a pretty icy pale pink and a gray. A dear friend made a sweater for her granddaughter with it and didn't enjoy working with it. She wanted nothing to do with the leftovers, so I ended up with what she had left, and got started right away.

I just LOVE how the baby hat from watermelon yarn turned out! It is so much fun to knit with!  I tried making baby socks, but the color blocked in funny ways that I didn't care for. Our baby wore this just after birth and it fit her for less than 2 weeks, but was totally worth making just for the ooohs, ahhs and pictures.

This tiny baby hat was made on size 2 needles with leftover sock yarn. It only fit our 9 pound baby for about 5 days.

These gorgeous sweaters are from the Tribute Baby Sweater Pattern in the Feb. issue of Piecework Magazine. I LOVE the pattern and how it turned out! Both of these sweaters will be gifts for sweet baby girls who are waiting to be born. They are a bit larger so they will fit at the right time. I've started one in a cream color for us- if I get it done in time. It seems that suddenly I have too many projects to finish in a very short time.

I don't usually post things that are unfinished but this is a great exception. This yarn is spectacular to work with! This sock is finished, but I'm still working on its mate. I do hope to be able to have enough left over for baby sized socks to match- and enough time to finish them!

This Aviator type hat came from the book "More Last Minute Knitted Gifts". The book was a fabulous Christmas present from a dear friend. The yarn is a cotton/linen blend- lovely to work with.

Adorable pinks! This fairy square baby bonnet is knit, with crochet flowers and ties. Of course, I didn't do the crochet- thank goodness for wonderful hooking friends!

I fell in love with the chevron pattern for a baby blanket in my last pregnancy, but never could make it work. I wrote this one myself with some hints from others who have used this particular yarn before. I don't work with acrylic yarn much, but this was a delight! Knitpicks Bulky Brava. I wish I would have chosen the orange instead of the green, but it was too late by the time it arrived. It seems large, but it is really just draped over the sewing machine- quite small- 3 skeins exactly. 

Baby sweater made with super fuzzy baby yarn. Love this pattern. Last time, I made it in blue. What a difference the yarn change makes. Still needs buttons down the side.

Tribute Baby sweater, found in Feb 2014 issue of Piecework magazine.This was a lovely knit and I'm pleased with how the wavy cotton yarn gave it a delicate look. Pink on purpose- a gift.

Baby hat. Why use those thin cotton hospital hats, when you can knit tiny hats with thin yarn on tiny needles? This one actually took longer than I thought because of the tiny needles and thin yarn. But it is so pretty and soft.

The pattern designer's photos captured the pattern in this bonnet better than I can. Pattern name: Crooked Little Baby Bonnet. I used a dk weight yarn and it came out pretty large. If desire and time come my way, I'll make another in thinner yarn with smaller needles.

Botanical Cowl is the name of the pattern. I used some lovely sock yarn and repeated the pattern one extra time so I wouldn't have any leftovers.It really needs blocking so you can see the eyelets and patterning, but it is unlikely that I'll ever wear or use this so it may take a long time to block.

Another pair of Vanilla Latte Pattern socks. This pair was made using beautiful hand-dyed sock yarn from my favorite line of "A Fling With String". It also helps that the proprietor is a dear friend of mine and the yarn was a gift. I have plenty left over for something baby-sized...

I LOVE Love Fixation elastic yarn for baby socks. These are the only ones I've ever found to actually stay on a baby's feet. Terrible lighting, but they are a subtle variegated pink. I'll weave my ends later.

Here is some wool I hand dyed. I've been inspired lately to dye yarn again. Although, now I have this serious dilemma about what to knit with 400 yards of wool.

 My dear aunt gave me this gift of beautiful sock yarn for Christmas a few years ago. It sat as a half-finished sock because at the time I was making cabled socks and had just had a baby. Turns out, they knit up much quicker with a simple pattern. The pattern is called Vanilla Latte Sock pattern, plain enough for anyone to tackle without paying attention to a lot of details like in cables.

Here are a small hat and sack for baby. Sack is open at the bottom for easier nighttime diaper changes. The hat is actually larger than the last one I made because I wasn't following a real pattern. 2" of ribbing, 2" of stockinette, then decreases every other round.
