Christmas ornaments stitched with wool felt. I really love working with quality materials. This pattern came from one of my favorite bloggers/stitchers: WildOlive. www.wildolive.blogspot.com These were the gifts I gave to my knitting group.

Connecting Threads bag kit. This was originally a gift from Dana, but after I made the bag with the instructions, I decided to piece the rest together to make my latest favorite bag pattern. I really enjoy carrying this bag.

Fall decor. This banner fits great across an opening we have between our kitchen and dining room. The kids made many turkeys to hang above and around it too!

Gathered zip pouch.

Fall festive hand embroidered towels. I loved making these and they look so cute hanging in the kitchen.

Tissue holders. I've made more than 30 of these so far. Fun fast, cute way to use scraps. 2 squares, 3 rectangles.
Rainbow Button Bag. This is made using the same bias bucket bag pattern, but this time I sewed on over 100 buttons before assembly. I used chalk to draw the lines to keep the buttons straight. I LOVE carrying this bag- except I have a ton of thread tails hanging.

Sorry, can't get this one to rotate. This one is not pleated, but a full circle. I'd like to point out that she has grown a bunch and I used the wrong bodice pattern. Since I didn't realize it until it was cut, I modified by adding a 4" band to the bodice and skirt hem. Using my awesome Pfaff and decorative stitching it turned out great anyway!

My newest favorite bag!! The bucket bag pattern. I made the bias handles 4" this time and used a heavier weight fabric. This one is lined in teal suedecloth and embellished with more than 100 buttons. I was glad to use up a bunch of buttons at once, but don't worry- I sewed them on by machine.

Our sweet baby is modeling the Portrait Peasant Pattern top. I lengthened it into an A-line dress.

Really loving the dumpling pattern, hand embroidered.

Painted dots. I like the glass, but an idea from Pinterest was to paint dots concentrated on the bottom and moving up. I am really glad I tried it and used the glass paint. Luckily, they all washed off easily because I did not like it. So, now what can I do with this lovely glass 'canvas'?

I have a weakness for pink with white polka dots. Especially in diaper fabric. I know she had plenty of cute girly diapers, but when I saw this fabric I had to whip up twenty more. 8 of them are in the next size up.

My sister and favorite niece came over one afternoon for an unexpected sewing project. They each made a dumpling zippy pouch. So, now, if a six year old, new to sewing can sew a zipper like a pro- so can you!
P.S. Don't tell them that zippers can be tricky. They don't know since I didn't mention it. As a result, they both did beautiful zippers and topstitched them perfectly!

Fully reversible bucket bias tape bag pattern. I can't remember if I've already posted this- but if so, it works out because I made 2. I love making one for me and one for a friend. When I use my copy, I always think of the friend out there who has the match.

Firetruck Cake! What fun this cake was for all the 3 year old boys attending! I did NOT make this, but it was all organic and nearly healthy. I cannot stress how incredibly yummy it was!! And beautiful, what a creative mommy!

Saturday, October 20, 2012

This beautiful baby quilt was a collaborative gift from a small friend and her quilting mother. We are so touched by their kindness. I am also touched by the idea that one of our daughters would someday be interested in crafting with me.

This is a bag that I've made many of. It goes together fast, has only 3 pieces, and uses bias tape decoratively. I like to use plastic canvas in the bottom for slight stability. The bag is also fully reversible. (Except that I like to use a snap instead of a button.)

These are the same zippy pouches from KeykaaLou's Dumpling pattern- enlarged 120%. I really liked some of these fabrics, but really messed up on piecing 2 of them. Maybe I can try again on the next batch.

Here is a new favorite of mine. Not this particular bag, but the mix of sewing, zippers, and hand embroidery. Alas, how many of these can I personally use?

What's old is new! Matchie jammies- passed down.

Monday, October 15, 2012

Jell-O ring. Have you seen one of these recently? We actually make them quite often, the kids love 'em!

Sunday, October 14, 2012

This is a miniquilt. It was a very ambitious attempt at dryer sheet applique. Things went terribly wrong when quilting it.

Saturday, October 13, 2012

These are "woven" mug rugs, or quiltinis. I had fun with the design, but only because they are small.

Friday, October 12, 2012

This is a back crossover dress for the baby. I had some fun with the buttons.

It is amazing what a newly 3 year old can do! This horsey bracelet is made with all glass beads. Some fish and 2 horse charms. He was having so much fun there was a bit of a fight when there were enough beads and he had to stop. This is for his horse loving friend who had a birthday. Hope she likes it long enough to grow into it. Those extra beads made it a bit large for a six year old sized wrist.

Some more Malabrigo green. I paired it with the rest of the rainbow yarn I'd won a couple of years ago from another blog. It was so pretty and with so little left, I knew it would be perfect here. I actually ran out near the bottom, which is all Dark Horse Yarn yellow. It felted great as a substitution, and the color is fine, especially since the bottom isn't seen. I'm thinking of using the last bit of yellow on another bowl I'm working on. I love how this pattern uses up some great wool and works up quick.

This lovely bracelet is made just the right size for a seven year old girl. Isn't seven so much fun?!

Sunday, April 29, 2012

Love this green Malabrigo yarn! This felted bowl is from the book "Designer One Skein Wonders", a lovely gift from Dana. Thanks!

This is the Feliz Dress. From the book "Sewing Clothes Kids Love". I really like the book, love the dress. I've made three so far. This was taken at ECHO Farm Day. She is juicing sugar cane. I made this dress a year ago, but only got her to wear it this one time since it was St. Patrick's day.

This bonnet was fun to make. The ruffles were small and easy to manage. It was super important to use the iron on this project (which I usually try to sneak out of using). I'm sure it will fit better when it is tied. Hoping to make the dress I've cut out to match... before she outgrows it.

Here are ten size small diapers. She's already grown out of the newborn size, but hopefully these will last several months. I had to make pink, since all the others are blues and greens. The insides are all lime or spring green cuddle dry microfleece. I couldn't wait another week for the pink to arrive.

Monday, April 2, 2012

I made two of these, they sadly fit for such a short time. I found the pattern when she was on the large end of the size. Seriously easy and cute though!

Still learning this camera. Here is a slightly better picture of the 18" doll popover sundresses. Funny, I made one for a small friend and when I gave it to her she just said, "Oh, that's cute, but I don't want it."

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

I can't even remember how many of these Leila and Ben Sweet Dresses I've made- dozens for sure! This is largest one yet- they now offer the larger sizes. She picked out this sparkly striped fabric to use as a nightgown. I'm surprised how much she has grown- and how many dresses she's grown out of.

Monday, March 12, 2012

Here is the Popover Sundress by Oliver+S in 18" doll size. I actually made four, two will stay here and these two will live with some friends.

Sunday, March 11, 2012

Did I ever show off this awesome Halloween costume? My dear friend Victoria made it for us. We helped by cutting things out and such, but really, costumes scare me.

She is also holding a stick mobile she made for the baby's cradle- such a sweet big sister!

Saturday, March 10, 2012

Someone made her own birthday cake! Woo Hoo! (I helped a little with the oven parts). Those polka-dots are actually Nerds. I'm so glad we decorated this at Dana's place-those things bounce everywhere! We did sweep up when we were done.

Saturday, March 3, 2012

Abigail made a pinata. She was actually in "Pinata Club". Who knew there was such a thing!

Friday, March 2, 2012

This dress was worn once.

Thursday, March 1, 2012

Another dress that she won't wear.

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

Newborn sized diaper. Very Baby AIO pattern. Joann's pul outer, Wazoodle elastic, bamboo velour inner. I also made the changing mat she is on from what was left of a batik I love.

Saturday, January 14, 2012

Here are those pink socks I knit- on the model. It seems they are slightly large, but still stay on better than anything store-bought. I'm sure by the time she's a month old, they will fit fine.

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

For Christmas, Katherine wanted to make a gift for her cousin. Not just a cute popsicle stick ornament, but a real gift. We have these little wooden tables that our kids use all the time for small projects and eating on while watching football, and playing 'school', etc. She built this, really. She did drilling, sanding, some cutting. I'm very impressed. She also wanted to paint it, but the flu left us with no time.

Another Dumpling Pouch. I'll post several pictures of these as I come across the ones I have left. Remember, there are 30. The scissors show size comparison.
