Bad lighting, but this is an elastic key fob I made. Since it was my first time trying this craft I don't feel too bad about the crookedness of it.

Here is some wool I hand dyed. I've been inspired lately to dye yarn again. Although, now I have this serious dilemma about what to knit with 400 yards of wool.

Have I shown you this adorable zippy pouch? I hand embroidered the designs. The fun colors made the project go super-quick.

My dear aunt gave me this gift of beautiful sock yarn for Christmas a few years ago. It sat as a half-finished sock because at the time I was making cabled socks and had just had a baby. Turns out, they knit up much quicker with a simple pattern. The pattern is called Vanilla Latte Sock pattern, plain enough for anyone to tackle without paying attention to a lot of details like in cables.

Here are a small hat and sack for baby. Sack is open at the bottom for easier nighttime diaper changes. The hat is actually larger than the last one I made because I wasn't following a real pattern. 2" of ribbing, 2" of stockinette, then decreases every other round.

Here is a lovely stack of NICU smocks.

I modified the pattern to be one piece which makes the sewing go much faster- just 2 layers.

I'm still using her original pattern, but she has since updated it and made it very fancy. These go to a local hospital that serves tiny newborns who are ill. A dear friend of mine is their nurse.
I think sewing these is such a worthwhile cause because parents have such a hard time connecting with their new babies when they are hooked up to machines, under lamps, in incubators, and part of the hospital. These little smocks give these babies an opportunity to get 'dressed' so the parents can see them as little people and hopefully help them to bond. They are made with soft cotton flannel and velcro. They are made with flaps that open completely so they don't interfere with leads, wires, and machines.
A baker's dozen.

I think these little alligator clippies with ribbon on them are so adorable! They are quite addicting to make too. With a little girl who has crazy hair I thought they'd be the perfect solution. Turns out, she doesn't agree. The first batch I made had 24. I actually started to get the hang of it by then.

Baby Shower Gift

Here is a fun baby shower gift that I made for a friend's niece. The blanket is so soft and cuddly, knitted without a pattern. The bulky fuzzy yarn was great and knitted up quickly on large needles. The 2 rompers are from Oliver+S pattern for the Tea Party Romper/Sundress pattern. They have snaps at the shoulders and in the crotch for diaper changes. One is size 6 mos. one 12 mos. These little sea creatures were so cute but boyish enough.
