A pretty stack of purple happiness! There are 6 washcloths here. One side snuggly flannel and the other side is soft purple velour. The flannel was an exciting gift from a friend, so I used a bit of it to make a small gift for someone else.

I knew I'd eventually try this. Homemade laundry soap. This is the powder form, there is also a recipe for the liquid/gel. I've been using it for a week, so it looks like this would be a 2-3 week supply. Pretty inexpensive and easy to make. Seems to work fine on the clothes too.

A little wooden family for the dollhouse. There is a pen behind them to show scale.

A medium to large sized diaper bag. Chances are, I'll end up using the small bags I'm used to. Threads need cut, obviously. This is some fun dotty fabric that I found while reorganizing. 3 pockets on the inside.

Another soaker. This one is mosaic knit in a pattern I made up myself. Which is why there are many, many mistakes. My photography is not great which is why you can't see the very fun hot pink and black combination that I fell in love with.

8"x8" wipes. The green ones are the pretty dyed sherpa that I love. Other side, flannel. Another dozen.

4 more small velcro pockets.

A great way to use small bits of fabric! The sailboat bibs have little pockets. I ran out of the fruit fabric so no pockets in them. They were fun fast and easy from a free pattern. Love the internet!

Abigail's creation, not mine. She made sugar crystals. When I read the books with experiments in them, I don't see many possibilities or I don't think it is a good time- she sees no limits.

Another dozen wipes! I'm starting to get faster! I love that I'm able to use up the scraps from other projects.

I felt the need to make more smalls. These 4 are different, they have the aplix/velcro instead of snaps. I remeber liking the speed of velcro over snaps in the beginning.

A great way to use up scraps. A dozen wipes/washcloths. 2 layers flannel, except the plain green. That one is hand dyed sherpa.

I am in total love with how the 'swirl dye' project came out! I skipped the extra step of setting the dyes in the washer-oops! So, everything turned a bit lighter, but I still love it all! The kids had a great time too! Next time, I want to do the rest of the prefolds!

A One-Sized diaper pattern. It is called the Cutie-Patootie diaper pattern. It goes together quickly and easily, but I don't know how it will fit. Here it is on the smallest and largest settings.

Stripey wool shorties. I love using Peace Fleece for these. It works up so well. I had fun with the stripes too! These are made from the Belladonna Designs Pattern. Great customer service and a super price for the pattern! The side view shows the short rows to make space for a diaper bum.

Another waterproof zippy bag!

We have some tiny pizza pans. One package of dough makes four little pizzas. The kids love to make these themselves, fun to make and fun to eat! A lunch everyone loves!

A lovely little hand-appliqued sailboat onsie. The sail fabric is a batik-looking red, white, and blue. The boat is a slightly plush brown corduroy. A friend gifted this to us after winning it in a raffle. Thank you Megan for the sweet baby gift!

Here is an example of the swirl dying. First picture is after the shaving cream dye mixture sat overnight. Next picture is after that is washed off, before throwing in the washing machine.

I recently read about swirl dying. Similar to tiedye, but using shaving cream as the dye medium. This way, the dye can be patterned more uniform. Here is our first try, everything waiting overnight to soak in the dye. We used 7 colors. If you try this, I suggest several different patterns with just 3-4 colors, and at least 4 bonus sized cans of shaving cream. Feel free to email me for links to the instructions.

A few wooden people for the doll house. The kids actually prefer the wooden ones and fight over them. One has blonde hair and blue eyes, one has green eyes, one has brown eyes and brown hair, and then the one in the red dress has golden hair and green eyes. That one didn't turn out so well. One slip of the hand and things go from sweet to scary. I may modify them a bit more, add drawn arms, buttons, etc.

A doll bed was the perfect gift for my niece this Christmas. I was excited at this thrift store find! It took almost 3 months to sand, prime, sand, prime, sand, prime, paint, sand, paint, paint, and paint. After all those coats of white, some of those neon colors still showed through. The day before she arrived, Katherine and I sat down and tried to figure out how to paint this so you couldn't see those old layers. Katherine decided on the purple, so she sponge painted the whole thing. I pulled out the One-Stroke Painting book from the library, and added some on each side. I also made the lacy satin pillow and mattress set. I am very pleased with how it came out. As you can see, I think she liked it!

Made from polymer clay, a 'name tag'. With a little glued on pinback.

A "soaker sack". They are both the same item, but one shows the hot pink/black color combo better. This is for when babies are so small you don't want to wriggle skinny legs into soaker leg holes.

A little tiny doll-sized quilt. Before my niece was born, I made her a baby-crib sized quilt from these fabrics and saved the tiny scraps. She is now 3 and loves dollies, so I made a quilt for the doll from those leftovers.

2 pairs of Cabbage Patch doll pants. I am slowly building up a distraction box.

Who doesn't love to match!? 3 matching nightgowns. I used 2 different patterns but the same flannel fabric and lace at the bottom.
