Here it is, painted and gifted. Our friend was very happy too! We were worried, but she had a huge smile! I was so excited, I wanted to do a victory lap around the park! Here's the baby testing it out. He's quite the carpenter, you know.(She is not pictured because I didn't get permission to post her on the internet.)
Thanks Deb!!

She made some bread from scratch with a group at church. She was very excited.

So, with the help of my new carrier (I'll post it later), a 5 year old, a drill, some wood, glue, and my totally awesome friend Deb... The most awesome child sized picnic table EVER!! This thing is so remarkable, really.

Ta-da! A gift for our friend who loves purple! Hope she likes it!

Thank you so much to Ana at www.knock-offwood.com!!! Without her amazing inspiration and easy to follow plans, we would have never attempted it.

Yay! A rocketship birthday cake! Abigail decorated the one on the right with a car.

With a ruffle? Will she wear the dress if it has a ruffle? No she shall not, no she will not, with a ruffle. Nor will she eat green eggs and ham.

Another hat. This one is a bucket style, with monkies. Supposedly, size 2, but fits a 5yr old head very well. I didn't put ties for around the chin because I'm lazy. Maybe I'll add them if I get complaints.

2 more pairs of panties. You wouldn't believe the complaints about store-bought. I've created a posh tushie.

Flannel nightgown. This may have been more useful in the winter when I started it. At least I'm getting through some unfinished projects.

It is a fun funky apron...

No- wait- it is a cute sun bonnet!
I love that just 2 snaps change the apron into a hat!

Panties using a different pattern.

The third apron dress that she won't wear. Although, she agreed to try it on if there's a ruffle along the bottom of the skirt.

A sweet hat for a friend. I almost miss the tiny girly stuff. Hard to see, but this aqua blue cotton yarn has a white shimmer running through it.
This poor ugly creature was my second attempt. Surely now you understand why half of what I make ends up in the trash. I'll take a break from doll making for a while.

The kids painted some pottery to give for the holiday.

Another summer dress. Simplicity 5695 with a square of 15"x14" added for the apron. I'll embroider this one too, but she picked out a bunny instead of my ugly flowers.

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

A sweet peasant dress with an apron. Hand embroidered flowers and vine on the apron. The beautiful orange vintage flower fabric is from Mrs. Neumayer (Thank You!). The child told me the dress was pretty, but the flowers are ugly. Thanks kid.

These pants are the fleece ones I made last month. They fit him really well- the length looks short because he's sitting. The toy he has is a wooden 'boat'. The holes are drilled so those pegs fit in perfectly. He loves to put them in and take them out. I'm not that great with the drill yet, so this is the third attempt. The green peg is actually a person whom I've not finished painting yet. Painted red and blue with a white racing stripe.
Pineapple upside down cake. Very similar to my great grandmother's, but not quite.

A bunch of reusable sandwich wraps with velcro. For some friends at the park that we picnic with each week.

Small ball, made with scraps.
