O+S Garden Party Sundress. Size 8. I'm having some lighting issues this week and sadly, you can't see the adorable white dots on this red fabric.

Inspired by a rainbow. This is front and back views of this dress. Size 3T. I made 2 of these, on for our house, one for a friend. They were very fun to make!

I LOVE this fabric. I have just a few scraps left. Lucy has worn the peasant dress I made her as often as possible. The dress is now a shirt. This dress is a size 3T, I know she will be thrilled when she grows into it. The brown gingham is a perfect match!

O+S Teaparty Sundress size 3.

Thursday, April 24, 2014

This dress was long ago intended for someone who grew out of it years ago. Luckily, we have another little girl to grow into it. I think it is a size 4T.

The last Kwik Sew 3776 bubble romper size 2T for a while. I'm glad to finally finish the rest of these. They are great for summer with lightweight cottons and plastic snaps.

The last time I made this Pea Pod bag I was in love. This time, I picked some great fabric colors and I'm not so fond of it. Partly, the problem is that I used webbing instead of real straps. I was trying to cut corners and be lazy- it shows.

Those first dozen wipes seemed fine until I thought we'd need more. So, now, with 40 we should have plenty? These are one side flannel one side baby stretch terry cloth. The flannel squares are all scraps from rag quilts that my friend and I each have made in the past couple of months.

The 5 hour vintage baby sweater pattern didn't really take 5 hours. But, that does make it an easy sell for someone who wants a quick project. The bottom, pink yarn, is Galaway bulky. The top, is hand-dyed by my dear friend who has a small yarn dying business "A Fling With String". Beautiful colors!

This Aviator type hat came from the book "More Last Minute Knitted Gifts". The book was a fabulous Christmas present from a dear friend. The yarn is a cotton/linen blend- lovely to work with.

Writey-Tidys are fun to make! I'm glad I switched to the 'lampshade' Pellon. The stiffer fabric makes a difference. Why make just a few when you can make 17?

O+S Tea Party Sundress pattern. This size 18 months is still fitting, but the 2T fits just as well. Big sister has a Seashore Sundress to match, but won't wear it.

The O+S Seashore Sundress. She likes this one because there are small, nearly hidden pockets. I stopped making her dresses for a while because she wasn't wearing half of them. Then she asked for more and told me not to worry about the half she won't wear. "Just think of the half that I DO wear", she says. This girl is lucky she has a little sister that will grow into some new-never-worn dresses someday.

My favorite designer released a new spring pattern that I couldn't pass up! After finishing this one, I picked up some more fabric to make more. She likes the fit and I enjoy the pattern. Next week is the Kid's Clothes Week Challenge and this time I'm ready!

Oliver + S Garden Party Dress

I have been a fan of Riley Blake Designs for a long time. These lovely Writey-Tidy notepad holders are the perfect thank you gift for my wonderful friends who handmade some sweet gifts for our baby.

Adorable pinks! This fairy square baby bonnet is knit, with crochet flowers and ties. Of course, I didn't do the crochet- thank goodness for wonderful hooking friends!

I fell in love with the chevron pattern for a baby blanket in my last pregnancy, but never could make it work. I wrote this one myself with some hints from others who have used this particular yarn before. I don't work with acrylic yarn much, but this was a delight! Knitpicks Bulky Brava. I wish I would have chosen the orange instead of the green, but it was too late by the time it arrived. It seems large, but it is really just draped over the sewing machine- quite small- 3 skeins exactly.
