It reads, "Do not let the sun set while you are still angry."  A designer that I love, Val Laird offered this free on her blog a while back.  It is one of the slower projects I like to have in the works.

My rudimentary attempt at an embroidery lap stand. I think this will help my speed on these projects since it can be worked using both hands. One on top, one underneath.

 

A new bag. I've made several of these in the past, but this one was cut out and ready to see in the "unfinished bin" . I did not are the extra layer of visible fleece that I usually do.

Found some brightly colored beads for these.

A gift for my favorite knitting cousin. Month 5 of the 12 months of socks contest.

It's been a while since we've made soap. This is a double batch. 25 bars. We actually do two double batches so we each end up with this much.

Changed the contrast fabric and flipped the printed panel. I think I'm going to like using this one.

I fell in love with this pattern long ago. Sadly, the $13 price tag scared me off. One day recently, I stumbled upon this pattern WITH fabric at a thrift store for only $5! The cowgirl fabric was something I would have never considered, but I am so pleased with this bag. I am out of practice and my sewing skills are slow to recover. I did not use any piping as called for in the pattern. I am really in love with how it turned out! We plan on getting a lot of use out of this bag for travel this summer and it sure will be easy to identify with those cute western boots- nothing like anything we've ever had before.

Getting back into practice.

somehow the photo is worse than the sewing. Which was already rough. This was originally the Mabel Bag by Swoon Patterns. 

I pulled just the pieces from my unfinished bin and assembled them with no directions.

Long breaks from sewing lead to poorly sewn projects like this sad little zip pouch.

I am in LOVE with these stripes! I had so much fun knitting these socks.

I've been enjoying this Lionbrand Scarfie yarn. So fun and fuzzy (but not too fuzzy).

Someone recently found Strawberry Shortcake dolls at the thrift store. Sadly, they were all naked. It only took me a day to knit up these tiny dresses.

Using scraps of yarn, made this little girl happy with a kitty.

Orange is not usually a color I use but this bag turned out really sweet with the small flowers and contrast. I didn't use very much interfacing which is unusual for me too, but I like how I can squish my knitting to take on the go.

We don't need as much play dough around here as we used to. But, it sure is still fun to make and play with.

I'm going to try to join in a fun sock knitting challenge this year. One pair of socks per month for a year. I wasn't sure I was that motivated, but at the last minute, or at least 5 days before the end of January, I decided to zip through a pair of socks. I really surprised myself.

Our Crafty Katherine has been experimenting with Barbie dress design. Seeing her creations shows me how absurd of a human-like shape these dolls actually have. It leans to her ability to adjust fitting for various shapes which could come in handy if she starts designing larger garments.

I really wanted to make a project bag for my favorite knitting cousin, but my practice bags weren't turning out so great.

I am so happy with how this turned out. All hand stitched with a thicker floss than I normally use.
