Zippy bags. These are fun, useful and easy to make.

The zippers look perfect! Do you serger the zippers or use your regular machine? I'd like to learn to do zippers, I'd like to make big bags to store my antique quilts in.

I use only a straight stitch on the regular machine. Any other stitch type and there would be too many puncture holes through the fabric. I also don't space the stitches too far apart so there are not too wide of gaps between stitches to keep the fabric secure.

My Grandma used to make small bags too. She made draw string bags, using scrap fabric to make the "string". My mom still carries one with her when she travels.
